Infidelity Investigations
Infidelity Investigations make up the largest share of our work for private citizens, and a look at recent infidelity statistics leaves little reason to wonder why.
- One of every two marriages ends in divorce.
- Half of those failed marriages ended because of an affair.
- 75% of all men and women have had sexual fantasies about a co-worker.
- Half of those men and women have acted upon those fantasies.
- 90% of those who discover they have a cheating partner are the last to know.

In reality, infidelity statistics are difficult to compile accurately. Human ego dictates that a certain percentage of those polled will indicate they’ve had an affair when they actually haven’t, while others simply won’t admit their affair, even in an anonymous poll.
Still, Peggy Vaughan, author of The Monogamy Myth, has concluded that 60% of all men and 40% of all women will have at least one extra-marital affair in their lifetime.
And the Kinsey Report, widely accepted among the most definitive sources, indicates that 50-60% of middle and upper-income males under the age of 60 had participated in at least one affair, while 40-50% of women in the same bracket had done so. Infidelity investigations are surveillance-intensive, highly sensitive, and emotionally charged.
Many of our competitors shy away from providing this service or simply price themselves high enough to discourage this type of assignment. And frankly, someone who doesn't handle these cases on a regular basis certainly can't be familiar with the level of discipline and assertive tactfulness that infidelity investigations require, and therefore isn't the best person for the job anyway.
At Shadow Investigations & Protective Services, LLC, we value the sanctity of marriage, and we recognize that the strength of our society begins with the health of the relationship in each home.
We realize that before healing can begin, the wound must be exposed...
and we welcome the challenge.
